Cymbidium canaliculatum Habitat and Plant Photos
This is where Cymbidium canaliculatum 'Big Sally' was found (in the Tamworth Region). Distribution: This large epiphytic orchid has a scattered distribution across northern and eastern Australia, extending from Hunter River in NSW to Cape York and across northern NT and Queensland to the Kimberley region in WA. The plants have an extensive root and rhizome system which extends deep into decaying heartwood in the host tree, and may reappear from other hollows metres away from original clump. (Source: Australian Tropical Rain Forest Orchids – Ed.)
