ANOS Sydney 2018 David Butler Trophy Winner
The inaugural winners in 2018 were Yin and Sau-wan Chan with their plant of Sarcochilus hartmannii [(‘Red Cloud’ x ‘Sylvanvale Blue Knob’) x ‘Red Snow’]. The plant was unanimously chosen by the ANOS judges at the show as worthy of being the Champion Sarcanthinae Orchid of the 33rd Annual Sarcanthinae Show. Congratulations to Yin and Sau-wan!

Sales Table News!
With more products and a comprehensive catalogue available on line shortly, the sales table will be bigger and better than ever this year.
We will have a larger and more varied selection of seedlings available from a wider range of growers.
Those members who purchase $20 or more worth of products on the night will now be in the running to receive a $5 voucher for future purchases.
One important change to note is that due to my responsibilities as president, the table will only be open before the meeting and not during the break. We will however be open earlier (from 7.15pm) giving everyone ample time to complete their purchases.
Also the table will be set up as a display; i.e. everything available will be on the table with a price attached, so just let me know what you need as the supplies are all under the tables (excluding plants of course). If you require bark or larger quantities of any item on the table, please email me before 10.00am on the Friday of the meeting.
There will be an even bigger selection of hybrid dendrobium and sarcochilus seedlings from Tinonee Orchids and other reputable growers on offer both on the sales table and our raffle. Many of these crosses you haven't seen before!
2018 Ira Butler Gold Trophy Winner
Congratulations to Henk van den Berg for his recent Ira Butler Gold Trophy (Champion Australian Native Orchid Hybrid of the Year), his third, for Dendrobium Jayden 'Sheen'!
The Ira Butler tops a long list of awards for this plant, including champion hybrid, ACM/AOC; FCC/AOC; & AM/ANOS, all awarded at the 2018 Kempsey Speciosum Spectacular.
Well done Henk in continuing to lead the way in the culture of our beautiful native hybrids!

“After several years of development, the RHS - based list of hybrids is now downloadable as a pdf from the ANOS website, and can be printed in an A4 or A5 booklet. The list will be updated as new registrations come to hand.” (ANOS Inc.)
